About the role

  • As a (Senior) IT Project Manager (m/f/d) in our SAP area, you will be part of our strategic project management team at Heraeus IT.
  • You will manage a broad range of SAP projects, from strategic initiatives to user- and customer-centric solutions that generate business value for Heraeus.
  • You will take end-to-end responsibility for project execution, including scope, timeline, resource planning, budget oversight, and project governance.
  • You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including business experts, IT business partners, IT specialists, and external vendors.
  • You will apply modern project management methods and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our project management practices.
  • Close business engagement and clear, targeted communication will be essential to ensure alignment with business objectives and effective delivery.
  • Act as a strategic partner to specialist departments, supporting new applications throughout their lifecycle with a strong focus on value creation.
  • Ensure a structured handover to the support organization for applications implemented through your projects, enabling stable operations throughout the remaining product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • You have 7+ years of experience in IT & SAP project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You are a strong people leader with experience managing internal staff and external partners, ensuring clear communication, aligned expectations, and consistent performance across mixed teams.
  • Experience in developing employees, technologies, and processes is a plus.
  • You hold a university degree (or equivalent education) in economics, IT, or a related field.
  • You are experienced in managing programs/projects in diverse environments and are well-versed in both traditional and agile methods.
  • You possess strong cross-team collaboration skills and can balance multiple stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • You quickly understand and analyze new demands and challenges.
  • You have international experience and a high level of intercultural awareness.
  • You possess strong commercial and business acumen.
  • You are a business-minded IT professional who understands how IT drives business value.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written; German proficiency is a plus.
