About the role
- As part of the Center of Excellence (CoE) Battery, you will work on cutting-edge battery technologies using virtual development (battery and process simulation) within customer and funded projects.
- Based on electrochemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal approaches, you will develop simulation models (e.g., using tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink) for Li-ion battery cells/packs and validate simulation results against measurements.
- You will maintain oversight through close collaboration with other specialist teams from production and cell characterization.
Requirements
- Successfully completed degree in engineering in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering/Process Engineering, or a comparable program.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in battery development.
- Experience in a production environment at pilot scale (A-sample cells and above) is desirable.
- Fundamentals in battery cell development, cell characterization, the theoretical basics of electrochemistry, and practical application in the cell laboratory.
- Very good German and/or English skills and willingness to travel for customer/project appointments.
