About the role
- Own the architecture of Databricks-based solutions from discovery through delivery, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Define and implement lakehouse patterns using Databricks (e.g., Delta Lake, Unity Catalog), enabling analytics and AI/ML workloads
- Design data ingestion and transformation pipelines (batch and streaming), with best practices for reliability, observability, and SLA management
- Establish standards for data modeling, dataset design, and domain-oriented data products where applicable
- Drive security, governance, and compliance: access control, data privacy, auditing, lineage, and catalog strategies (Unity Catalog, integration with enterprise IAM)
- Provide technical leadership during delivery: unblock teams, handle architectural trade-offs, and guide performance/cost tuning (clusters, job patterns, optimization)
- Define DataOps/MLOps adjacent practices as needed (CI/CD, testing strategies, environment promotion, monitoring)
- Support pre-sales and commercial initiatives: solution architecture, technical proposal content, effort estimation, delivery approach, and client technical workshops
- Work closely with cloud teams to integrate Databricks with AWS/Azure/GCP services (storage, networking, security, orchestration tools)
