About the role
- Lead and manage the region's customs and excise governance
- Support the Group Head of Indirect Tax in ensuring alignment with the group's tax strategy and management policies
- Ensure compliance with customs and excise tax laws and regulations
- Conduct internal reviews and audits of local teams and departments
- Provide strategic oversight and manage external advisors and consultants
- Manage regional risk
- Serve as a member of indirect tax committees
- Support training and development of staff
Requirements
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge and experience in effectively managing third‑party service providers
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with tax authorities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Assertiveness and drive
- Excellent project and time management skills
- University degree with a professional qualification in accounting or tax law
- Minimum seven years of tax experience in Big Four firms or similar multinational organizations
- Strong knowledge of customs and excise taxes and accounting
- Experience with international tax matters and cross‑border transactions
- Experience dealing with tax authorities and defending tax positions
- Detailed understanding of relevant financial tools and systems
- Experience in Operations Finance, Supply Chain, or similar roles
- Experience leading major regulatory audits
- Financial and data management, including analysis, interpretation and insight generation
