About the role

  • Assembles and tests experimental wiring harnesses, electronic modules, and other electrical equipment and components
  • Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of Electrical Engineers
  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment and performs preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Works from wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion and performs routine installation and maintenance duties
  • Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron
  • Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment
  • Plan, completes, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems
  • Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art tools or software by reading or attending conferences, workshops or other training

Requirements

  • Associate or certificate program in Electrical Tech or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-6 years' experience with electronic test equipment including Oscilloscope, multi-meter, and various power supplies
  • Experience with CAD/Circuit designs
  • Must be proficient at building and testing harnesses according to IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Knowledge of electronics wire routings
  • Experience with basic office software including word processing, spreadsheet, Outlook and calendaring
  • Must have some basic mechanical assembly knowledge
  • Experience using hand tools is preferred
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
