About the role

  • Work with the Product Segment leader to develop short-term and long-term product plans and roadmap for relevant product categories
  • Manage the development and implementation of the entire product launch plan “from concept to consumer”
  • Develop product plans and roadmaps utilizing various “Voice of Customer” methods
  • Work closely with sales management and engineering departments in conducting field evaluation testing
  • Perform customer demonstrations and conduct technical product training
  • Streamline product life cycle management relating to inventory planning and phase-in/phase-out transitions
  • Monitor product return rates and gather feedback from online reviews
  • Work closely with International Decorative Finishing counterparts to incorporate international product and market requirements into the global product portfolio
  • Develop and maintain contacts with key customers throughout the Product Creation Process

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, engineering, or related field is required
  • MBA or other Master’s level degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 4 (four) years of product management within a related consumer or contractor business
  • In depth knowledge of the paint or paint application market is highly desirable
  • Experience selling or marketing to and through big box DIY retailers, specialty hardware and paint channel outlets, and/or contractors preferred
  • Proven experience in driving profitability, cost savings and innovation
  • Demonstrable record of past success in product/engineering role
  • Project management ability with detail orientation
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of approaches to problems
  • Strong initiative, energy, and positive attitude
  • Working ability with Microsoft Office software; proficiency in a Phase/Gate process desirable; SAP experience desirable.
