About the role

  • Carrying out projects to develop and optimize processes for the manufacture and further processing of Nitinol tubes for medical applications
  • Planning, executing and evaluating tests in the areas of tube drawing and heat treatment (shape setting, superelastic annealing)
  • Documenting and presenting results
  • Selecting and qualifying suppliers, as well as specifying and procuring required production machinery and materials
  • Collaborating in cross-functional project teams with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Medical Engineering or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience as a project engineer in technology and process development, preferably in a regulated environment (medical devices and associated quality requirements)
  • Deep expertise in the development and manufacturing of tubes or other semi-finished products made of Nitinol, including comprehensive knowledge of the relevant plant/equipment technology
  • Several years of experience with upstream and downstream methods such as deep-hole drilling, heat treatment, shape setting, surface treatment (e.g., electropolishing)
  • Practical experience with various project management methods and use of appropriate tools such as Six Sigma and DOE (Design of Experiments)
  • Excellent written and spoken English, relevant for communication with the global Medevio organization and our international customers
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office applications
