About the role
- Independently plan, carry out and analyze FEM simulations (e.g., using Ansys, CST Studio Suite, Matlab) to evaluate electromagnetic fields, magnet designs or opto-mechanical systems.
- Develop and validate physical models for complex systems (e.g., particle accelerators, laser processes) and verify these models through experiments or comparison with measurement data.
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation, including drafting requirements and functional specifications, technical specifications, and comprehensive documentation of development and test results.
- Prepare and present work results to clients, project partners or internal stakeholders, including explaining complex technical topics.
- Coordinate and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams and align with other departments (e.g., mechanics, electronics, IT), coordinate work packages and, where applicable, lead small project teams or subprojects.
Requirements
- University degree (Master/Diploma) or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Several years of experience with particle accelerators, magnet design and magnetic field simulations (Ansys).
- Strong team skills, resilience, flexibility and a high degree of personal responsibility and independence.
- High self-motivation and willingness to contribute in a growing environment.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
