About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate, maintain, manage, improve, and enforce On-Prem Cloud IaaS services to ensure service availability
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide L2 support for high availability of Cloud Platforms
- Review allocated tickets daily and ensure timely, high-quality resolution
- Identify and escalate misallocated tickets for transfer to the Cloud Service Delivery team
- Research, configure, follow up, and completely close assigned tickets in ServiceNow
- Communicate the status of assigned incidents and tickets
- Document incident and request information in a shared knowledge repository accessible to the end-to-end Cloud team
- Monitor security compliance according to standards, policies, and procedures
- Drive technical innovation and infrastructure-operations efficiency through automation
- Establish and maintain working relationships with Millicom lines of business and relevant stakeholders
- Ensure On-Prem Cloud Platform services comply with regulatory, corporate, centralized governance, standards, and policies
- Collaborate with other Cloud Platform Operations Engineers as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
- Ability to analyze problems, troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using OpenStack technologies, including Nova, Neutron, Glance, Cinder, and Swift
- Knowledge and experience with Ceph is a plus
- Experience with container engines and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- 4+ years of hands-on experience using Linux, including system configurations, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
- Experience operating VMware vCloud technologies and components, including VMware vRealize Automation, VMware vRealize Orchestrator, VMware vSphere, ESXi, VMware NSX-T, VMware vRealize Operations Manager, VMware vSAN, VMware VCF, and VMware vSphere vCenter
- 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, and operating solutions across public and private IaaS/PaaS offerings at massive scale
- Experience with blade or rack servers from Dell, SuperMicro, or Huawei
- Knowledge of networking principles and technologies, including TCP/UDP, iSCSI, DNS, SSH, SSL, DHCP, web services, virtual networking, and load balancing
- Knowledge of security principles and technologies, including user access controls, firewalls, security groups, and VPN access
- Good understanding of application monitoring and metrics
- ITIL framework and processes experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent Spanish and English, verbal and written
- Ability to work with little instruction and resolve demanding tasks
- Python and scripting skills, including Bash, PowerShell, and API consumption for continuous integration
- Configuration management and versioning using code repositories such as GitHub
- Experience working in an Infrastructure-as-Code environment using Terraform or Ansible
