About the role
- Oversee a team of Analysts responsible for researching, validating, and constructing various datasets.
- Support product development and enhancement.
- Ensure robust engagement between the data team and the customers utilising Lloyd’s List Intelligence’s suite of products.
- Grasp both the strategic and commercial imperatives that drive success in maritime intelligence.
- Maintain focus on delivering high-quality outputs.
- Liaise with regional commercial and product teams, while maintaining alignment with global data operations.
- Contribute to commercial decision-making processes.
- Gain deep insight into delivering best-in-class data to a discerning and data-centric clientele.
- Monitor data quality and productivity.
- Proactively refine processes and policies in response to customer feedback.
- Stay informed about maritime market dynamics and advancements in data intelligence.
- Create and present business and investment plans aligned with strategic objectives.
- Participate in client visits as a subject matter expert.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a B2B subscription-based data or technology business, ideally within maritime or logistics sectors.
- Exceptional people management skills and a track record of leading medium to large teams.
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations is desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of software solutions and database systems capable of managing and organising Big Data.
- Understanding of complex data ingestion systems; experience with Graph Database technologies is an advantage.
- Evident passion for learning about new and emerging data trends and technologies.
- Innovative, dynamic approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated success in driving data quality and system improvements.
- Solid project management abilities, including articulating business justifications, building timelines, and identifying risks.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, enabling relationship-building throughout the organisation.
- Ability to negotiate data procurement with a wide range of partners and suppliers, consistent with the data strategy.
- Confidence in communicating with stakeholders and customers at all organisational levels.
- Strong presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
- Experience in managing cost bases to budget.
- Proficient written and spoken English
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically
- A flexible, can-do attitude with the ability to manage several ongoing tasks at any one time
