About the role
- Join our dynamic New England team as a Senior Bridge Design Engineer
- Tackle complex bridge projects and develop innovative, practical solutions for MassDOT, MBTA, CTDOT, and RIDOT
- Perform design and analysis, as well as other structural engineering tasks for bridge systems
- Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations using Midas, AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating, STAAD, and other advanced software tools
- Create structural details and construction plans using MicroStation or AutoCAD
- Assist and check design calculations performed by others to ensure accuracy and quality
- Prepare geometric layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations
- Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings
- Prepare technical specification sections
- Provide input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements
- Guide and mentor junior structural staff members, fostering their professional growth
- Build and maintain strong connections with employees, clients, and other collaborators to achieve remarkable results
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (Relevant Master’s degree is a plus!)
- 10-15+ years of relevant experience in bridge design and structural analysis
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Massachusetts
- Strong track record of leading bridge projects, meeting with clients, and providing technical expertise
- Proficiency using industry standard bridge design and analysis software, including MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with structural design software and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Familiarity with MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT, CTDOT standards for design, plan development and ratings is highly desired!
