About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze design criteria, applicable codes, and client requirements under minimal supervision.
- Prepare calculations necessary for structural engineering construction drawings and specifications.
- Prepare moderately complex studies, construction documents, basic reports and other supporting documentation.
- Prepare technical specifications.
- Interpret data and prepare drawings for building and vertical non-building projects.
- Provide engineering and project support to the Designer of Record (DOR).
- Act as DOR as required.
- Deliver projects and/or tasks on time and within allotted budget.
- Provide clear redlines for EIT’s and BIM designers.
- Check design calculations performed by others.
- Handle multiple projects while following MBI project standards and team protocols.
- Review and comment on construction submittals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Architectural or Civil Engineering.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE)
- Proficiency with FEA Software and structural design codes
- Experience with seismic and wind engineering
- Proficiency with RAM SS, RISA 3D, Tekla Structural Designer, Enercalc, Microsoft Excel, MS Office Suite
- Familiar with structural design codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, AISC, TMS, and ACI.
- Familiar with ETABS and Revit preferred
- Familiar with Unified Facilities Criteria and UFGS.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain professional licensure in state which employee resides.
- Available for periodic travel.
