About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for development of the Project Quality Plan
Establishment of project quality governance
Independent verification of quality processes throughout design and construction
Support recruiting and interviewing the Project Quality Manager (PQM)
Transition quality execution responsibility to the Project Quality Manager while maintaining oversight
Ensure project quality processes are fully defined, documented and communicated
Develop project specific quality plans and facilitate training to project teams before work begins
Oversee development and implementation of an organizational and responsibility matrix for the Quality team
Monitor, measure and report on project specific quality management activities
Maintain relationships with project managers, quality team, and subject matter experts
Develop and communicate the performance standards and metrics for project quality
Provide Quality Management Leadership supporting continuous improvement of corporate quality practices
Build quality related training materials for different audiences
Actively participate and lead quality initiatives as part of the corporate quality team

Requirements

What you’ll need

15 + years of industry or related experience (will consider specific responsibilities in lieu of years’ experience)
Accredited Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Ability to author project specific quality plans with experience executing quality assurance on multiple simultaneous projects
Specific experience with Design and Design Quality Management on large and/or Design Build projects is preferred
Experience with State Department of Transportation and/or Federal Horizontal/Vertical Design project will also be considered
Quality management certification(s) such as ASQ’s Certified Quality Manager, or the US Army Corps of Engineers certified Quality Manager
Demonstrated experience in the Architect/Engineering/Construction field including project/program management, project quality management, and/or design experience
Experience authoring and/or leading quality processes/plans including audits
Strong technical proficiency in Quality-related areas, including ISO 9001, ACI, ASME, PMI, ASQ, related legislation, auditing, and data analysis
Experience in continual improvement activities including nonconformity reporting, corrective/preventive action reporting, and root cause analysis
Ability to travel and visit project teams and/or construction locations throughout the United States
Ability to coordinate multiple projects, measure and report to leadership and support process standardization/improvement
Superior presentation skills and verbal / written communication skills
Proven relationship-building and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders in a team environment
Superior leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with internal & external customers
