About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and track requests for qualifications (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs) related to highway and roadway projects
- Develop and maintain marketing materials, client profiles, and teaming partner packages for highway pursuits
- Conduct market and client research to support state DOT programs, upcoming advertisements, funding initiatives, and industry trends impacting the highway market
- Support Go/No-Go decision-making by gathering and organizing pursuit intelligence and competitive data
- Coordinate with technical, management, and production teams to plan, write, and produce qualifications, proposals, and presentations for highway pursuits
- Maintain and update boilerplate content, resumes, project descriptions, and practice information relevant to highway services
- Provide writing, editing, graphic, and production support with an emphasis on telling a compelling story around Michael Baker’s highway experience and differentiators
- Assist with industry involvement, including organizing and promoting participation in transportation-related associations, conferences, and client events
- Review and provide feedback on marketing materials, proposals, and interview presentations
- Gather and organize information related to pursuit strategy, pricing, teaming, and technical approach
- Represent the Highway Practice in internal meetings and support NPLs with scheduling, meeting notes, and follow-up actions
- Coordinate closely with the Proposal Development team to ensure timely delivery of proposal materials, resumes, and qualifications
- Track and monitor industry advertisements and procurement opportunities relevant to highway and roadway services
- Plan, create, and support editorial and content initiatives supporting highway marketing efforts
- Provide QA/QC of technical deliverables
- Coordinate with Corporate Communications to ensure all materials remain on brand and aligned with company standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 25 years of experience in the A/E/C/P industry, preferably supporting transportation or highway-related markets
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and marketing teams
- Strategic thinker with high ethical standards and sound business judgment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe InDesign preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed
