About the role
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new Oracle APEX applications based on business requirements and specifications.
- Support and enhance existing APEX applications, including troubleshooting, bug fixes, performance tuning, and implementing feature improvements.
- Work directly with business users, analysts, and stakeholders to understand current processes, gather detailed requirements, identify pain points, and propose APEX-based solutions.
- Translate business needs into technical designs, including UI/UX layouts, data models, workflows, and integrations.
- Build responsive, secure, and maintainable applications using APEX components such as Interactive Reports, Interactive Grids, Charts, Forms, Dynamic Actions, RESTful Services, and Automations.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure applications meet quality standards and are production-ready.
- Optimize application performance, implement security best practices (e.g., authentication, authorization, row-level security), and adhere to coding standards.
- Document technical designs, application configurations, and user guides for knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance.
- Stay current with Oracle APEX releases, features (including AI-assisted development and workflow capabilities in recent versions), and best practices to recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications with Oracle APEX (including recent versions such as 22.x, 23.x, or 24.x+).
- Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and database design/performance tuning.
- Experience collaborating with business teams to elicit requirements and deliver solutions that meet user expectations.
- Solid understanding of web development concepts, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- Proven ability to deliver production-ready applications with a focus on usability, security, and maintainability.
