- Michael Baker International has addressed bridge design, construction and preservation challenges with innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Seeking a Fortran Software Developer to support and maintain a large suite of bridge engineering applications.
- Will be part of Michael Baker’s Bridge Software Department applying computer technology to bridge engineering for over 30 years.
- Responsible for utilizing a combination of bridge engineering skills and software development skills.
- Work under the direct supervision of registered Professional Engineers; may provide opportunities to cross over to bridge design department.

- Preferred skills include understanding of numerical methods, finite element analysis, structural engineering, experience maintaining large codebases, familiarity with modern languages, OOP, code modernization, and software testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field.
- 3 to 5 years of software development experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering specifications.
- Proficiency in Fortran 77, with experience in later standards (90/95) a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Desire to pursue a career in software development related to bridges and transportation structures
