About the role
- Design and develop social studies educational content (video scripts, assessments, and written materials) for 6-12th grade students
- Ensure content is pedagogically sound, engaging, age-appropriate, and accessible for students
- Write clear and measurable lesson objectives, and align teaching materials to meet objectives
- Use technology, such as Google Slides, Sheets, Docs, Figma, and screencasting software
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
- Continuously evaluate and refine content based on feedback and educational outcomes
- Collaborate on special projects and assignments
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time social studies classroom teaching experience in core social studies subjects (Civics/Government, Economics, World History, US History or other relevant subject) at the 6-12th grade level
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education or in a social studies-related field
- Familiarity with writing lesson objectives and creating objective-aligned lesson materials
- Experience designing well-structured and effective lessons
- Ability to differentiate instruction to make learning accessible, engaging, and age-appropriate
- Strong understanding of what makes a lesson engaging
- Experience using technology to support instruction, including Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs
- Access to a computer/laptop (with camera) and reliable high-speed internet connection
