About the role

  • Provide expertise, training, and research support in various microscopy techniques
  • Teach one course a year on the theory of electron microscopy
  • Teach one laboratory course a year on transmission and scanning electron microscopy
  • Perform, diagnose, or coordinate servicing of center instrumentation
  • Plan and coordinate future instrumentation needs and grant funding with faculty
  • Supervise a full-time staff person and manage the center operating budget

Requirements

  • M.S. degree in Natural Sciences, Material Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Five years of experience with light and electron microscopy instrumentation and sample preparation techniques
  • Working knowledge of image acquisition and analysis platforms
  • Consideration will be given to applicants with Ph.D. degree in Natural Sciences, Material Sciences, or a related discipline
