About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with institutional data and analytics leaders to shape and advance a shared vision for modern, trusted analytics aligned to evolving data architecture practices
Lead the continued rebuilding and advancement of the University’s data platform, guiding the evolution of warehouses, lakehouses, and data marts toward a more scalable, integrated ecosystem
Work collaboratively across the institution to reduce data silos and support the rehoming of data into secure, standardized, and sustainable environments
Ensure data is reliable, well-managed, and accessible, establishing practices that strengthen institutional trust and long-term usability
Guide and deliver analytics and reporting solutions that provide clear, actionable insights aligned to institutional priorities
Expand and support self-service analytics and advance data literacy across the institution, enabling confident and effective use of data in decision-making
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team of analytics, data engineering, and reporting professionals
Establish strong, collaborative relationships with academic and administrative leaders to understand priorities and deliver meaningful, aligned solutions
Provide insights and guidance to senior leaders to support institutional strategy and decision-making
Lead institutional change efforts related to data, analytics, and platform modernization, ensuring coordination, clear direction, and measurable outcomes
Accountable for the delivery and effectiveness of institutional analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with data governance strategy, privacy, security, and consistent practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field earned by date of hire
eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in data, analytics, or related disciplines
direct experience leading direct reports and functional teams
leading an institution-level major initiative in analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence
Experience in higher education or similarly complex and/or siloed organizations
Experience with Workday FIN/HR/Payroll and Student data structures, integrations, and reporting
Experience with cloud-based data ecosystems and modern data architectures (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau, dbt, Airflow, etc.)
Experience applying predictive analytics, machine learning, or AI capabilities to business or institutional challenges
Relevant certifications or formal training in data, analytics, or leadership
