About the role
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger and operating accounts.
- Collaboration with departmental units.
- Financial statement preparations and compliance reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations.
- Identify and research variances.
- Responsible for components of year end audit and financial statement preparation.
- Responsible for compliance reporting requirements.
- Act as coach and mentor for accounting staff and external departmental users.
- Setting up and maintaining chart of accounts elements for grant funds.
- Review and close inactive elements.
- Establish and monitor grant accounts in financial system.
- Research and compile financial reporting data quarterly or semi-annually.
- Prepare and submit grant billings in compliance with the approved budget.
- Closeout grant accounts as needed.
- Evaluate account for balances in accounts receivable.
- Communicate with Principal Investigator if balance or overdraft exists.
- Prepare final financial status reports as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field; at least 3 years of experience.
- Master's degree; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Advanced accounting principles.
- Excel experience.
- Reporting software and complex accounting software.
- Grant experience.
- Familiar with data analysis, research and reporting tools.
