About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, budget, and execute tax engagements under broad supervision
  • Delegate work to lower-level staff and manage progress and deadlines
  • Prepare engagement workpapers and tax returns for clients across various industries
  • Research tax issues and recognize and communicate potential engagement risks
  • Prepare tax projections and tax planning assignments
  • Prepare other tax consulting projects as needed
  • Identify key client issues and discuss solutions to improve quality and efficiency
  • Maintain knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and common audit/tax techniques
  • Communicate with associates, managers/partners, and clients
  • Provide performance and behavior feedback to lower-level associates
  • Communicate workload and project status to the manager
  • Assist with financial statement compilations, reviews, and audits during the offseason

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–4 years of tax experience in public accounting required
  • Experience preparing engagement workpapers and tax returns for individual, S-Corporation, and partnership clients strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Master’s in Tax preferred
  • CPA license preferred
  • Knowledge of CCH Axcess or ProSystems is a plus
  • Knowledge of intermediate accounting and/or tax principles
  • Ability to assign work, manage progress, and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
