About the role
- Provide hands-on, day-to-day audit support as part of engagement teams
- Perform financial statement audits for state and local government entities
- Understand and recognize potential audit issues through analysis of relevant documentation
- Clearly and accurately document execution of specific audit procedures per engagement objectives and standards
- Maintain strong client focus and develop productive working relationships with client personnel
- Collaborate with team members, contribute ideas, and assume responsibilities
- Pursue professional development opportunities and share information with co-workers
- Travel to client sites as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required
- Must be able to sit for CPA exam, already sitting or have obtained CPA license
- Minimum 1 1/2 years working experience in a public accounting firm
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to learn how to use a variety of accounting and auditing software and systems
- Demonstrate a command of GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS and common audit techniques
- Willingness/ability to travel to and from client sites
