About the role
- Install and maintain servers and storage equipment within lab computing environment
- Provide top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users
- Work with engineering teams to create hardware configuration test plans in support of software development
- Manage all aspects of lab environments including development & test lab equipment, lab networks, web applications, databases, caching servers, monitoring systems, custom tools, and build environments
- Help implement and support datacenter footprint in Durham, NC; prioritize issues and product vulnerabilities; contribute to growth and robustness of organization
- Interact with managers, product management, global support, and core engineering to bring product to market
Requirements
- Knowledge of UNIX / Linux and Windows Server, plus basic VMware
- Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and repair with storage equipment and other rack-mount server platforms
- Understanding of networking and TCP/IP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to repetitively lift 70 lbs. for the installation of products
- Technical understanding of Cisco, Brocade, Dell, and/or Arista platforms (Desirable)
- Ability to communicate with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization (Desirable)
