About the role
- Collaborate with our global thermal, electrical and mechanical engineering community to develop Rack-Level Data Center solutions for Dell’s enterprise customers and partners
- Design rack-level heat exchange and coolant distribution systems
- Develop coolant distribution solutions within the loop for parallel flow solutions and support cooling network sizing
- Create and evaluate concepts for new, innovative air and liquid cooling solutions and assess feasibility
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to drive design trade‑offs in rack‑level air and liquid cooling solutions
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost‑effective and highly reliable
Requirements
- 12+ years in a thermal engineering role to include experience with server rack cooling systems within Data Centers or equivalent skill
- Expertise in internal fluid dynamics and heat transfer
- Experience with electronics cooling, cooling distribution units (CDUs) and thermal systems controls
- Skilled at analyzing options and selecting critical design elements for product development
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with and influence global teams
- BS, MS or PhD in mechanical engineering or related field
