About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a strategic advisor and business partner to assigned business unit(s), including operations, delivery, and technical teams.
  • Provide consultative support to leaders on workforce planning, performance management, organizational design, and engagement.
  • Translate business needs into solutions aligned with team goals and MetroStar’s people strategy.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and high performance.
  • Lead and resolve sensitive employee relations matters.
  • Conduct investigations, draft documentation, and guide managers through corrective actions, terminations, and appeals.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, MetroStar policy, and government contracting requirements, including EEO, OFCCP, and SCA.
  • Identify and address workplace culture or morale issues through training, process refinement, or coaching.
  • Partner with stakeholders to manage compensation strategies, conduct benchmarking and pay reviews, and support pricing and labor category alignment.
  • Create development plans and monitor the impact of training and certification programs.
  • Oversee onboarding, offboarding, HRIS data integrity, and employee documentation management.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits, DCAA reviews, and compliance inspections.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, IT, Security, and Finance to deliver seamless employee experiences.
  • Leverage AI-enabled HR tools and people analytics to improve efficiency, identify workforce trends, support decision-making, and ensure responsible use of employee data.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s or SPHR/SHRM-SCP a strong plus).
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 4+ years in an employee relations leadership role and 2+ years supporting federal contracts.
  • Direct experience supporting business units as a Business Partner.
  • Proven compensation experience, especially within the constraints of government contracting (e.g., SCA, exempt/non-exempt labor).
  • Strong familiarity with OFCCP, EEO, and labor classification requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in building or supporting professional development and training frameworks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, strong ethical judgment, and a track record of discretion.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled HR technologies and applying data-driven insights to improve people operations while maintaining compliance, privacy, and ethical standards.
