About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Promote the safe and appropriate use, storage and distribution of medications
Provide consultative services and clinical expertise to evaluate and improve medication usage and therapeutic outcomes
Promote continued improvement within the pharmacy scope of practice
Process orders and prescriptions for medications and pharmaceutical supplies
Advise physicians, healthcare staff, residents and patients on safe medication administration
Follow and help develop policies and procedures for medication safety, regulatory requirements, quality standards and compliance
Guide the daily activities of pharmacy technicians and/or residents
Perform other assigned or requested job functions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Required Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
Required Tennessee Pharmacist license from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy
Mississippi Pharmacist license from the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy preferred
Ability to understand and interpret complex written materials and technical reports
Ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to work with information systems, automated and technical pharmacy equipment
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and initiative
Strong planning, scheduling and workflow organization skills
Ability to react quickly to emergency situations, including on-call availability
Ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. frequently
Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact
Ability to work around patient body fluids and hazardous or poisonous materials
