About the role

  • Work with cross-functional leadership to drive operational efficiency and financial management across the organization.
  • Lead a cross-functional team spanning Accounting, Finance, Talent and HR and build systems, processes, and planning rhythms to support growth.
  • Implement FP&A best practices; own forecasting and budgeting cycles and develop the financial narrative for executives and investors.
  • Oversee key vendor relationships (bureaus, banks, cloud vendors, infrastructure providers) to improve margins and expand product capabilities.
  • Drive initiatives that support company growth targets and partner with Product, Engineering, and Sales to optimize resource allocation and remove operational barriers.
  • Define and track key metrics to optimize operational efficiency, vendor performance, and cross-team execution.
  • Jump into high-impact cross-functional projects, including board prep, overseeing audits, and running annual planning cycles.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, business operations, and/or management consulting, ideally in venture-backed, high-growth companies.
  • 3+ years as a people manager, with experience leading cross-functional G&A or finance teams.
  • Strong FP&A foundation with proven ability to own forecasting, budgeting, and financial storytelling.
  • Demonstrated success managing strategic vendor or partnership negotiations that materially impact cost structure or product capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a strong sense of urgency, proactivity, and independence.
  • Comfortable navigating complexity—able to prioritize, structure work, and manage multiple high-stakes initiatives in parallel.
  • Background managing growth-stage startup operations and vendor-enabled product development.
  • Experience in B2B fintech or finance-related industries (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with HR operations and compliance management (preferred).
  • Ability to be present in New York City or Washington D.C. on a 2-4 day/week cadence (role requirement as stated in application form).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain authorization (application asks about US work authorization and sponsorship).
