About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop account strategies, territory planning, and administrative processes to ensure customer satisfaction
- Create and use quarterly business plans aligned with marketing strategies, account analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and customer insights
- Prospect for new accounts and business development opportunities
- Secure new customers through field activity, initial and repeat orders, and organized daily and weekly schedules
- Develop sales revenue at or above target margin through business development
- Own customer relationships before, during, and after sales
- Involve Learning Experience Coordinators and Interior Designers in the sales process to create Prosocial Learning Environments/Experiences
- Engage school, district, architectural, and community stakeholders to build consensus and facilitate change
- Manage client renewals and ongoing relationships
- Coordinate with support teams during project fulfillment to ensure client satisfaction
- Develop expertise in products and learning experiences and communicate product information to customers
- Travel three or more days per week
- Conduct presentations and product demonstrations
- Complete sales reporting as needed
- Participate in trade shows and trade organizations for networking and professional development
- Generate revenue at target margin through qualified pipeline development, target-client acquisition, and long-term customer relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Consultative selling style focused on qualifying prospects' budget, authority, need, and timing
- Self-starter able to work autonomously
- At least 3 years of field sales experience with demonstrable results
- K-12 education market experience is a plus
- Ability and willingness to prospect for new business
- Ability to efficiently manage a large account pipeline
- Skills in prospecting, territory management, time management, presentations, negotiation, closing, problem solving, and customer service
- Experience identifying, qualifying, and closing B2B deals ranging from $5,000 to over $50,000
- Ability to think, plan, and act strategically
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass criminal background and drug screening
- Strong proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, web searching, and other business applications
- Ability to travel three or more days per week
- Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including occasional lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
