About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop account strategies, territory plans, and administrative processes to ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop and use quarterly business plans aligned with marketing strategies, account analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and customer insights
- Prospect for new accounts and business development opportunities
- Secure new and repeat customers through field activity, account calls, and organized work schedules
- Develop sales revenue at or above target margin through business development
- Own customer relationships before, during, and after the sale
- Involve Learning Experience Coordinators and Interior Designers in the sales process
- Engage school, district, architectural, and community stakeholders to build consensus and facilitate change
- Manage client renewals and relationships
- Coordinate with support teams during project fulfillment to maintain client satisfaction
- Develop product and learning experience expertise and position product information for customers
- Travel 3+ days per week
- Conduct presentations and product demonstrations
- Complete sales reporting
- Participate in trade shows and trade organizations for networking and professional development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Consultative selling style focused on qualifying prospects’ budget, authority, need, and timing
- Self-starter able to work autonomously
- At least 3 years of field sales experience with demonstrable results
- K-12 education market experience is a plus
- Ability and willingness to prospect for new business
- Ability to efficiently manage a large account pipeline
- Skills in prospecting, territory management, time management, presentations, negotiation, closing, problem solving, and customer service
- Experience identifying, qualifying, and closing B2B deals ranging from $5,000 to over $50,000
- Ability to think, plan, and act strategically
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass criminal background and drug screening
- Strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, web searching, and other business applications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Ability to meet physical demands, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
