About the role
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support reliable, cost‑effective supply of goods and services.
- Prepare, process, and manage purchase orders and procurement requests in an accurate and timely manner.
- Monitor stock levels and replenishment needs, including analysing slow‑moving, excess, or overstocked items and recommending actions.
- Ensure DIFOT performance by coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to maintain uninterrupted supply.
- Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing data, including reports on purchasing activity, sales data, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues in collaboration with Finance to ensure timely supplier payments.
- Source alternative products, manage product recalls, and obtain samples in line with internal processes.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across purchasing and inventory management.
Requirements
- Strong background in inventory and purchasing management, ideally within food services, FMCG, supply chain, or similar environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and pride in producing quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) with solid analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving ability.
- Strong planning, organisation, and time‑management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and basic finance or accounting principles.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to respond well to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Committed to delivering excellent customer service with a strong focus on productivity, quality, and safety.
