About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a team of software engineers to implement high-quality technology solutions
Manage resource allocation through accurate estimation, meet utilization targets, and ensure strict adherence to time logging standards
Guarantee project success through proactive unblocking, rapid communication, and meeting all security and quality standards
Ensure ongoing compliance with role certification standards and practice effective delegation
Ensure 90%+ A-player acquisition and maintain high retention of engineering talent
Create accurate estimates for every ticket to enable proper resource allocation
Ensure the team meets utilization targets and adheres to time logging standards
Reduce ticket overage by unblocking engineering team members and leveling technical issues up to the Head of Engineering
Report ticket estimate overages to the Project Manager and Head of Engineering ASAP to ensure project success
Maintain updated milestones and dates in the Certification Planning spreadsheet for 100% of team members
Adhere to quality and security standards to ensure zero requirements defects on projects
Support work-in-progress cycle times of < 2 days, code reviews within 4 business hours, and QA within 2 days
Delegate tasks using the 5 Levels of Leadership and implement Manager Tools best practices for retention
Participate in the hiring process using the WHO method to acquire A-player talent

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience as a Tech Leader
Proven ability to lead a team of software engineers
Demonstrated experience in technical estimation and resource allocation
Expertise in maintaining engineering quality and security standards
Proven ability to create quality software - Zero major defects and/or bugs released
Familiarity with the WHO method for hiring and talent acquisition
Knowledge of Manager Tools best practices for team retention
Ability to implement delegation according to the 5 Levels of Leadership
Commitment to ongoing role certification and professional development
Ability to maintain rapid communication and meet strict cycle-time targets
Advanced to fluent English communication skills are essential for this role.
Must reside in Brazil
