Key responsibilities & impact

create content that developers and analysts actually want: practical tutorials, clear explanations, honest opinions, and demos grounded in real use cases
act as an editor and curator for internal engineers, guest contributors, marketing colleagues and other advocates
produce video content (screencasts, shorts, explainers) that expands Metabase's educational reach
develop and execute plans to build, enable, and nurture Metabase's developer community through events, meetups, livestreams, courses, social media, and partnerships
build real relationships with developers, community leaders, contributors, and power users
track and monitor community health and content performance metrics, assess how well initiatives are achieving their goals

Requirements

What you’ll need

comfortable with SQL, databases, metrics, and analytics workflows
experience building community across Twitter/X, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, blogs, meetups, public speaking, and live events
communication style is clear, direct, and human
identify as a teacher and a learner, a builder and a doer
empathetic, inclusive, and warm
good judgment about when to speak, when to listen, and when to stay out of it entirely
can create content independently
bonus: contributed to or built on top of open source projects
bonus: experience with embedded analytics, BI tooling, or the modern data stack
