About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You will play a key role in fulfilling our daily commitment to customers to meet Messer's highest customer service standards.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the go-to-market strategy, providing branch and sales force support by delivering technical expertise in welding and cutting and providing technical support to the sales team during quotations and bids.
  • Perform troubleshooting, training and demonstrations of welding equipment.
  • Develop cost-benefit analyses with the commercial/sales team for key existing and prospective customers.
  • Work with the sales representative to identify existing and new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC, engineering and the customer's end users to identify proven solutions.
  • Provide product information, training and demonstrations to branch staff and customers.
  • Provide technical guidance to sales staff for equipment selection and quotation preparation.
  • Support and implement all sales strategies and campaigns.
  • Work safely at all times.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • College diploma in metallurgy or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • 5 years' experience in welding and cutting (sales or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years' welding experience in an industrial environment.
  • Red Seal certification or Certified Welding Inspector.
  • Proficiency in manual, automated and robotic welding processes, as well as oxy-fuel heating and cutting.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards, welding procedure specifications (WPS), technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • High level of computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken.
