About the role

  • Accurately pull orders from the shelf, scan merchandise to track the chain of custody, and add to cart.
  • Use disc-resurfacing machines according to instructions.
  • Notify the supervisor of any errors in pulling, listing, or damaging products.
  • Locate boxes and packaging material appropriate for the item being shipped.
  • Package and seal items, preventing damage to merchandise.
  • Weigh items, ensuring correct postage based on weight and dimensions.
  • Create address labels and postage stickers, and ensure the package contents.
  • Sort packages into designated containers, bags, or carts for shipping.
  • Assist the shipping company with loading or unloading packages.
  • Support the supervisor with the purging or relocation of inventory.
  • Prepare the production station before and clean the station after every shift.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
  • Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
  • Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
  • Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft.
  • Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
  • Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • No degree is required. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with co-workers, customers, and management.
  • Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population—necessary math, computer, and website navigation skills.
  • Complex reasoning and decision-making skills are required.
  • The ability to type 40 + WPM is strongly preferred.
