About the role
- Accurately pull orders from the shelf, scan merchandise to track the chain of custody, and add to cart.
- Use disc-resurfacing machines according to instructions.
- Notify the supervisor of any errors in pulling, listing, or damaging products.
- Locate boxes and packaging material appropriate for the item being shipped.
- Package and seal items, preventing damage to merchandise.
- Weigh items, ensuring correct postage based on weight and dimensions.
- Create address labels and postage stickers, and ensure the package contents.
- Sort packages into designated containers, bags, or carts for shipping.
- Assist the shipping company with loading or unloading packages.
- Support the supervisor with the purging or relocation of inventory.
- Prepare the production station before and clean the station after every shift.
- Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
- Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
- Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
- Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft.
- Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
- Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No degree is required. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with co-workers, customers, and management.
- Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population—necessary math, computer, and website navigation skills.
- Complex reasoning and decision-making skills are required.
- The ability to type 40 + WPM is strongly preferred.
