About the role
- produce creative written and multimedia content optimized for engagement across social, digital and print platforms
- generate original content for the website, blog, monthly newsletter, email marketing and social media
- storyboard and edit short, compelling videos for distribution on social media and inclusion in newsletters and website
- curate news articles and stories relevant to Meridian’s mission
- support live coverage of events, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X, photography, videography
- complete all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner
Requirements
- current undergraduate or graduate student in the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism
- commit 16-20 hours per week to the fellowship
- fluent in verbal and written English
- proficient in the MS Office Suite
- maintain residency in the DC, MD, or VA area
