About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provides pre-hospital basic life support care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
Maintains thorough patient care documentation (TraumaSoft/Epic) in a timely manner.
Practices within his/her scope of practice as defined by the State of Illinois/Wisconsin and Mercyhealth.
Communicates educational needs to the program leadership.
Provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
Maintains documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training.
Participates regularly in departmental activities, simulation, projects and committees.
Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
Transports non-monitored patients to in-patient units.
Directs visitors to patients' rooms.
Processes patient charges and orders supplies as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Two (2) years’ experience in a busy 911 system and ALS experience preferred.
Previous Critical Care transport experience preferred.
National Registry Certificate Required.
EMT License in State of Practice is required.
Dual State of Illinois and Wisconsin licensure required within 90 days.
BLS/CPR required within 90 days.
NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and Hazmat within 90 days.
EVOC Driving course completion within (3) months of hire.
Strong organizational skills.
Effective verbal communication, written communication, quality customer service, grammar/spelling.
Manage stress appropriately, makes decisions under pressure.
