About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides pre-hospital basic life support care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
- Maintains thorough patient care documentation (TraumaSoft/Epic) in a timely manner.
- Practices within his/her scope of practice as defined by the State of Illinois/Wisconsin and Mercyhealth.
- Communicates educational needs to the program leadership.
- Provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
- Maintains documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training.
- Participates regularly in departmental activities, simulation, projects and committees.
- Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
- Transports non-monitored patients to in-patient units.
- Directs visitors to patients' rooms.
- Processes patient charges and orders supplies as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Two (2) years’ experience in a busy 911 system and ALS experience preferred.
- Previous Critical Care transport experience preferred.
- National Registry Certificate Required.
- EMT License in State of Practice is required.
- Dual State of Illinois and Wisconsin licensure required within 90 days.
- BLS/CPR required within 90 days.
- NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and Hazmat within 90 days.
- EVOC Driving course completion within (3) months of hire.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective verbal communication, written communication, quality customer service, grammar/spelling.
- Manage stress appropriately, makes decisions under pressure.
