About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set daily priorities, monitor accounts not coded
- Train and support coding specialists in assigning diagnoses and procedure codes for billing and statistical purposes
- Supervise, hire, train, onboard, evaluate, and develop staff through professional development, performance feedback, and coaching
- Develop reports and analyze data to identify areas for improvement
- Promote an environment of teamwork and service excellence within the department
- Ensure coordination of coding between HIM and chargemaster
- Assist in coding-related denial resolution
- Plan, develop and deploy coding education across the organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Business Administration, etc.)
- 7-10 years of experience within revenue cycle operations
- 5-7 years supervisory experience with proven ability to oversee subordinates
- Certification in billing or coding (e.g. RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-H)
- Ability to think independently and have a high degree of analytical and trouble-shooting skills required
