About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, direct and coordinate technical activities of the designated specialty within the laboratory
Provide direct supervision of designated staff to ensure quality and service level
Coordinate the technical and quality activities of the designated specialty at both Janesville and Rockford campuses
Develop quality control programs, policies, procedures, and performance standards
Provide orientation protocols and direct training for staff
Evaluate new methods, procedures, and equipment
Coordinate the implementation of new methods and equipment
Provide oversight for student clinical rotations
Serve as a technical consultant to medical staff and other departments
Maintain competency by performing testing as appropriate

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or laboratory science
Recent experience in a similar laboratory setting
Qualified to perform high complexity testing according to CLIA 493.1489 Standard
MT/MLS Generalist Certification or Specialty Certification BB, C, H, M, HTL, or CT required
