About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for directing the equipment/supplies and interdepartmental coordination
Holds the oversight for the sterilization department leadership
Acts as a liaison between the staff, physicians, nursing and administration
Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and administration of patient care services
Manages financial resources and capital allocation
Develops solutions and action plans to address any cost/productivity/quality, infection control issues
Maintains adequate departmental staffing schedules and prioritizes instrument needs for the OR schedule
Completes annual performance appraisals
Works with internal and external customers to provide quality sterile instrumentation for patients
Collaborates with OR personnel; Manager, Team Leaders and other interdepartmental representatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

3-5 years experience in progressive leadership
Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician
Knowledge of surgical instruments/principles and Infection Control practices
Leadership/Management Courses preferred
Current Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) and/or International Association of Healthcare Central Services Material Management (IAHCSMM)
Proficient in Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint and Publisher, and instrument tracking systems.
