About the role
- Provides primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers through age 2
- Performs physical examinations and may perform specialty procedures
- Provides answers to patients' questions and educates them on care
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests
- Formulates plans and prognosis based on patient's condition
- Prescribes or recommends treatments such as physical therapy and inhalation therapy
- Refers patients to the physician for consultation
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a bedside registered nurse in a level III NICU
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Meets requirements determined by the State of Wisconsin or Illinois to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner
- Specialty, based on area of practice, experience required
