About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors
  • Provide RNs and clinicians with immediate notification of changes in cardiac rhythms
  • Review patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and alert clinical staff to changes
  • Review patient data to identify patterns and variances
  • Work closely with nurses and care teams to ensure patient safety
  • Maintain a calm, focused presence during overnight hours
  • Complete day-shift training during the first 6–8 weeks
  • Perform duties consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a monitor tech course or passing score of 85% on Mercy’s competency exam
  • CRAT certification within 1 year of hire
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Quick decision-making under pressure
  • Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
