About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct reviews of inpatient medical records
- Identify missing, vague, and/or incomplete components
- Communicate the need for additional documentation to clinical providers
- Collaborate with other departments to improve documentation quality
- Provide data reports and educational support for documentation elements
- Support initiatives to improve documentation quality by caregivers
Requirements
What you’ll need- RN, BSN, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIC, CCDS, or CDIP education
- 3 years CDI experience and 1 year in nursing, inpatient coding, UM, CM, Quality, or related field
- Proficiency in data analysis, detailed data presentation, and clinical documentation
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to identify diagnoses
- Extensive knowledge of disease processes and clinical outcomes
- Experience with EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint
- Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills including typing ability
