Credentialing Specialist
MercyCredentialing Specialist coordinating verification of practitioner files for initial and reappointment at Mercy Clinics. Ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies and handling expedited requests.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinates accurate verification of approximately 8,000 practitioner files for initial appointment and reappointment
- Prepares and sends applications
- Gathers, enters, and verifies information received in the application process
- Communicates verbally and in writing with applicants as necessary to complete their application
- Detail-oriented approach in understanding complex credentialing requirements needed by facility and variances for credentialing in multiple states
- Deadline-driven with the ability to adapt to expedited requests
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or previous data entry or credentialing experience
- Previous credentialing or database entry experience preferred
- Detail oriented
- Analytical experience preferred
- Valid certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Services management (CPMSM) preferred
- Must be able to work in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
- Position requires long hours sitting at a computer
- Some travel is required
