About the role
- Ensure coding for telehealth consultations is appropriate
- Review and analyze documentation in medical records for inpatient and outpatient visits
- Determine appropriate charge and modifier assignments as described by physicians of record
- Abide by Standards of Ethical Coding set forth by the American Health Information Management Association
- Adhere to official coding guidelines
- Maintain expert knowledge of telehealth regulations across multiple states
- Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Five years coding in a Medical setting
- Experience coding telehealth claims preferred
- Coding (CPT/HCPCS) experience preferred
- Certification/Registration: CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA if required
- CPT and HCPCS coding skills
- Computer skills with Windows
- Medical terminology skills
- ICD-10-CM, CPT, and various reference books knowledge
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform with consistency and accuracy
