Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure coding for telehealth consultations is appropriate
Review and analyze documentation in medical records for inpatient and outpatient visits
Determine appropriate charge and modifier assignments as described by physicians of record
Abide by Standards of Ethical Coding set forth by the American Health Information Management Association
Adhere to official coding guidelines
Maintain expert knowledge of telehealth regulations across multiple states
Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED required
Five years coding in a Medical setting
Experience coding telehealth claims preferred
Coding (CPT/HCPCS) experience preferred
Certification/Registration: CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA if required
CPT and HCPCS coding skills
Computer skills with Windows
Medical terminology skills
ICD-10-CM, CPT, and various reference books knowledge
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and perform with consistency and accuracy
