About the role

  • Ensure coding for telehealth consultations is appropriate
  • Review and analyze documentation in medical records for inpatient and outpatient visits
  • Determine appropriate charge and modifier assignments as described by physicians of record
  • Abide by Standards of Ethical Coding set forth by the American Health Information Management Association
  • Adhere to official coding guidelines
  • Maintain expert knowledge of telehealth regulations across multiple states
  • Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Five years coding in a Medical setting
  • Experience coding telehealth claims preferred
  • Coding (CPT/HCPCS) experience preferred
  • Certification/Registration: CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA if required
  • CPT and HCPCS coding skills
  • Computer skills with Windows
  • Medical terminology skills
  • ICD-10-CM, CPT, and various reference books knowledge
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform with consistency and accuracy
