About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects across the Investments space
Architect, build, and scale brokerage trading and/or custody systems and processes
Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance teams to ship features for customers and internal users
Take strong product ownership and help shape and build Mercury’s future
Build scaled, novel, and compliant Trading & Custody systems powering Treasury and Invest products
Empower the internal Investment Operations team with robust and efficient tools
Provide technical leadership in a collaborative, cross-functional environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

5-7+ years of backend experience
Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail
Domain knowledge of broker-dealer trading and/or custody systems
Experience with systems supporting individual securities (equities, fixed income), ETFs, and mutual funds
Understanding of scale
Experience with AWS and infrastructure solutions
Experience serving as technical lead for complex projects with multiple stakeholders from inception to completion
Track record of successful project delivery
Experience making architectural decisions and measuring their impact over time
Ability to articulate technical opinions and explain tradeoffs
