About the role
- Drive the execution of product initiatives from conception to launch, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Lead a group of cross-functional engineers and designers to develop tools and platforms that enhance advisor efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work with third-party service providers and influence their roadmaps to align with Mercer Advisors' goals.
- Utilize data-driven insights to improve product performance and advisor satisfaction continuously.
- Be ultimately responsible for the outcome and KPIs of the products you build.
- Gather and prioritize requirements from financial advisory team to inform product development.
- Prepare written requirements for each development sprint based on design, users, and engineers’ input for each feature.
- Conduct user testing and gather feedback to ensure products meet the needs of advisors.
- Integrate advisor feedback into product iterations to enhance usability and functionality.
- Dive into the details of our operations and processes to find technology-powered solutions for improvements.
- Identify opportunities for small and significant enhancements to our business processes through technology.
- Influence and assist in maintaining software development lifecycle to ensure the Product Team is operating at peak efficiency.
- Consistently engage in measuring the health and performance of our products and features to provide insights to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement within our team.
- Integrate AI capabilities into advisor workflows to drive growth.
- Use data and machine learning to drive recommendation.
- Leverage AI to make yourself and your team more effective at building.
- Act as a liaison between advisors, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Communicate product updates, insights, and performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of product goals with business objectives and advisor needs.
- Mentor and guide junior product managers and team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Bring a data-driven mindset and culture to our team, ensuring decisions are based on robust analytics and metrics.
- Ensure that the product team adheres to best practices and industry standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years in product management, ideally in financial services, wealth management, or B2B SaaS
- Track record of shipping products that integrate with existing systems and workflows.
- Experience in managing simultaneous complex projects from inception to successful completion.
- Strong ability to translate complex business processes into clear product requirements.
- Comfort with AI concepts and how to apply them to user-facing products.
- Experience with building, managing & maintaining APIs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive product execution and delivery.
- Bias toward action while delivering great products.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and competing priorities.
- User-obsessed—you start with advisor pain points and work backwards.
