About the role
- Member of the Product Development Engineering team, working as a chemist or development engineer for exhaust aftertreatment systems for diesel engines with a strong focus on global projects.
- Responsible for the selection, application and validation of catalysts for diesel engines such as DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalysts) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), as well as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF). Will interface with headquarters in Germany and with other business units such as Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) and Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA).
- Analysis of catalyst test results on engine test benches and synthetic gas benches.
- Preparation of product specification documents and technical reports (in English).
- Creation and execution of DVP&Rs (Design and Verification Plans & Reports) for validation of solutions and components of exhaust aftertreatment systems.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automotive Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields;
- Advanced conversational English;
- Essential knowledge of exhaust aftertreatment systems and technologies for internal combustion engines;
- Solid experience in product development, with an emphasis on experimental engineering;
- Experience with functional, structural and durability testing of powertrain, engine peripheral systems or vehicle systems;
- Knowledge of exhaust emissions legislation for internal combustion engines (EU, EPA, PROCONVE);
- General knowledge of Mercedes‑Benz product development processes and project management (CVDS).
