Private Client Tax Manager
Menzies LLPAs a Private Client Tax Manager at Menzies, you'll manage personal tax returns and client portfolios. Prepare complex tax returns while assisting junior team members and ensuring compliance.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Preparing complex personal tax returns.
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring key deadlines are met.
- Assist junior team members with training and queries.
- Reviewing simple tax returns prepared by junior team members.
- Identify and support advisory opportunities.
- Manage client relationships.
- Assist with wider compliance obligations of the tax team. This may expand to include CGT returns & calculations, IHT returns, trust regulations, etc.
- Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required, including assisting with advisory work in a range of areas, e.g., residency/ domicile issues / property issues/ IHT, trusts & estates.
Requirements
What you’ll need- ATT qualified or equivalent.
- Good technical tax knowledge and experience in preparing personal tax returns.
- Developing experience in managing a compliance portfolio.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Ideally would have experience in preparing advisory reports
- Experience of looking after own client allocation for the annual compliance cycle.
- Working with SME clients at a mid-tier UK accounting firm.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and provide excellent client care.
- Demonstrable experience of working with increasingly complex tax returns and a varied portfolio.
