About the role

  • Develop new methods that provide clinically actionable results from sequencing data;
  • Create and optimize bioinformatics pipelines, balancing biological answer quality with computational performance;
  • Ensure reproducibility and traceability of analyses, guaranteeing that clinical processing is consistent and auditable;
  • Perform ad hoc analyses of experimental laboratory data to inform decisions about standardizing new pipelines;
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team, writing clean, maintainable code with good test coverage;
  • Understand key sequencing metrics and automate quality-control checks.

Requirements

  • Practical experience in genomics and bioinformatics, focused on solving problems in the simplest and most maintainable way possible;
  • Experience evaluating, validating, and operating open-source tools for sequencing pipelines (alignment, variant calling, CNVs, etc.);
  • Development of NGS pipelines in Python supported by engineering best practices, including strong knowledge of Git, testing, and CI/CD;
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing (GCP or AWS);
  • Clinical production mindset: build autonomous, self-monitoring pipelines that ensure traceability, tests, and alerts operate systemically without relying on manual intervention;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and align requirements between physicians, developers, and product teams;
