PCT, Support, Dayshift
Memorial Hermann Health SystemPatient Care Technician providing patient care activities including hygiene and safety assistance in an acute care setting. Also responsible for responding to changes in patient condition and collaborating with the nursing staff.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs patient care activities, including identifying and responding to abnormal findings.
- Appropriately escalates changes in the patient’s condition to the nurse.
- Provides assistance with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity.
- Practices patient and family centered care.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Certified in Basic Life Support issued by (AHA) American Heart Association before hire.
- Two (2) years of prior patient care experience (e.g. Certified Nursing Assistant, , or Patient Care Technician).
- Phlebotomy skills check off required within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in all Core Competencies of the PCT position as noted in Memorial Hermann’s PCT Competency Based Tool and as validated by Memorial Hermann Clinical Education no later than the end of orientation.
